    Veterinarian, Owner

    Dr. Keith Cook earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Michigan State University in 1987, and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from M.S.U. in 1991.  In his free time he enjoys water sports, playing hockey, snowboarding, fishing, karate, and spending time with his two daughters, wife (Eileen), family, friends, and many pets.

  • Dr. Eileen Cook

    Veterinarian, Owner

    Dr. Eileen Cook earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Michigan State University in 1988, and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from M.S.U. in 1992.  She enjoys walking, exercising, rollerblading, skiing, karate, and spending time with her two daughters, husband (Keith), family, friends, and many pets.

  • Dr. Lisa Walters

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Lisa Walters earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Science from Michigan State University in 1999, and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from M.S.U. in 2001.  She joined the team at Southgate Animal Hospital in 2001.  She enjoys running, scrapbooking, and rollerblading.  In her spare time, she enjoys to spend time with her husband, 3 children, and beagle.

  • Dr. Carlie Trabulsy

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Carlie has been working in the veterinary field since she was 19 years old. She got her start as a kennel assistant in 2009 at Southgate Animal Hospital. While earning a bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry at Madonna University, she was trained as a receptionist and veterinary assistant. Dr. Carlie had always dreamed of being a veterinarian and in 2016 graduated from Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she returned to Southgate Animal Hospital to work full time. Dr. Carlie enjoys to spend time with her 2 guinea pigs, friends, and family. She looks to scrapbook and read outside of work.

    Casey is a 2004 graduate of the Wayne State University Veterinary Technology program.  She has a special interest in the dental care of the patients.  In addition to her dog (Killian) and a diamond dove, she also has two cats: Pooka, and Stubb Nubbs (a special needs cat with no back feet!).  Her hobbies include spending time with her adorable son Logan, sewing, crafts, and roller derby.

Sara is our caretaker for the clinic hamster, Peaches. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her dogs and cats while crafting.

    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Molly is a 2012 graduate of the Wayne County Community College Veterinary Technology program.  She currently attends canine rehabilitation classes through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute (CRI) with the plan of becoming a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Assistant.  She and her husband have a love for dogs and currently have seven furry "kids" as family members.  In her spare time she likes to garden and attend dogs shows.

    Veterinary Assistant

    Monica has been working in the veterinary field for over 14 years.  Monica is our inventory guru, stocking all the products (except pet food) that keeps this hospital running!  Her favorite activity here, besides loving on the pets, is stocking the retail area.  She enjoys the "hunt" for hard-to-find items.  Monica has lived in the area for over 25 years, and has two grown children, three dogs, a cat, and many outdoor aquatic pets.

    Debby has been working with us here at Southgate Animal Hospital since 2000. She has a special talent for working with the exotic pets that we treat and educating clients about the care that they require.  She has a Quaker bird and is known here as our bird expert!  Debby enjoys spending free time with her husband and traveling.

    Veterinary Assistant

    Marie has been a part of the Southgate Animal Hospital family since she was a little girl, and has been working here with our kennel staff since 2010. In 2015, she was trained as a veterinary assistant. At home, she enjoys to spend time with her two cats. Currently, Marie attends Eastern Michigan University as a Music Education major and plans to continue to incorporate veterinary medicine in her life.

    Amy joined our team in 2012, but has many years of experience in the field, including large animal! Amy has a special interest in animal nutrition. She is our resident farmer and enjoys caring for a wide variety of animals, including: pigs, cows, horses and chickens. In her free time, she enjoys to spend time with her cats and dogs- dachshunds are a favorite of hers!

    Stephanie joined our team 2015. She started working in their field at 16 years old as a kennel assistant. Over the years, Stephanie has learned about the many aspects of veterinary medicine. Her favorite part of working at Southgate Animal Hospital is her coworkers and the animals! In her free time, she enjoys motorcycle rides and spending time with her children.

    Kennel Assistant/Veterinary Assistant

    Kirstin joined our team officially in 2013. However, being the oldest daughter of the Drs. Cook, she spent her life observing her parents in action. Through the years, her love for animals grew and eventually she began working as a kennel assistant here. Currently, Kirstin has been trained as veterinary assistant and works during her breaks while attending Michigan State University as pre-vet student. In her spare time, Kirstin enjoys drawing (specifically animals and mythological creatures).

    Receptionist

    Sydney joined our team in January 2017. Sydney loves to see all the different species that we see come through the door every day. She has a history of working in customer service and was excited to continue serving the community in a different way. Outside of work, Sydney enjoys creating short films, and music videos. Sydney earned a trade film degree at the Motion Picture Institute in 2015 and is currently working towards an associate's degree at HFCC in film.

    Kyle joined our team in August 2016. Kyle's favorite aspect of his job is interacting with the wide variety of patients/species that we have come through our door and enjoying joking around with the other staff members! While in high school, Kyle was interested in working with animals or following a career in film. He ultimately earned an associate's degree in film from Lansing Community College in 2015 but decided to detour down the veterinary medicine path recently. Outside of work, Kyle enjoys film, editing projects, as well as making creative costumes and props.

    Kennel Assistant

    Kris joined us November 2016 as a kennel assistant. Prior to entering the "small animal" world. Kris was a horse trainer, specifically working with young horses that have not been trained for riding yet. Kris loves to stay busy as work and enjoys spending time with our boarders. Outside of work, Kris enjoys horse back riding, medieval combat, leather working, and spending time with her numerous pets!
